Israel Ministry of Defense says Israel would help Gaza if Hamas leaves

Jerusalem (AFP) – Israeli Defence Minister Avigdor Lieberman on Thursday warned Hamas of a tough response to “provocation”, after a projectile fired from Gaza saw the Jewish state retaliate with force.

Lieberman also said Israel would turn the Gaza Strip into a prosperous territory if its people toppled the enclave’s Islamist rulers, or if the militant group changed its ways.

His remarks came 10 days after a rocket fired from Gaza hit southern Israel without causing any casualties, triggering retaliatory tank fire and air strikes that wounded three Palestinians.

While Israel was not seeking a new war, “any provocation will be met with a powerful response,” Lieberman said, quoted by the website of COGAT, the defence ministry body responsible for coordinating Israeli activities in the Palestinian territories.

Israel has maintained a blockade of the enclave for the past 10 years, limiting the entry of goods and crippling the economy in a move it says is necessary to contain Hamas, with which it has fought three wars since 2008.

Lieberman said Hamas was responsible for the dire economic situation in Gaza, and vowed to help the territory if it ceased preparations to attack Israel, or if Gazans ousted the Islamists.

“The moment Hamas gives up on tunnels and rockets, we will be the first ones to invest and build them a seaport, an airport, and industrial zones by Kerem Shalom and Erez crossings,” he said.

“We can be partners to turning Gaza into the Singapore of the Middle East, but for that to happen the residents of Gaza need to get rid of the Hamas leadership.” yahoo news

Hamas warns Israel against ‘foolishness’ after deadly strike (yahoo news)

Islamist movement Hamas on Sunday warned Israel against “foolishness” after an air strike by the Jewish state.

I forgot who was the one who shot first?  Who are the ones that are killing Jews? Who are the ones that are stabbing and mauling the Jews?  Who are the ones that are defending themselves?  I guess it’s foolishness to defend oneself in a battle.  You decide.

Further Terror Update – Saturday 10.9.15

Saturday 10.9.15
We witnessed many incidents today, Shabbat.  Of main concern is the increasing violence being shown in a number of Arab villages and towns in Israel  and an increasingly explosive situation along the Gaza Strip.
With regard to the Strip, just a few minutes ago, Israel Channel 2 news reported that some 70 Palestinians from Gaza approached the border fence close to Kibbutz Kissufim and attempted to break through to Israel.  The area was, apparently, carefully chosen as security forces where some distance away from the area.  Dozens of Palestinians did manages to infiltrate into Israel but were apprehended by security forces responding to automatic alarms generated by the border fence’s system.  The infiltrators were, according to news reports, unarmed.
This is perhaps one of Israel’s biggest fears – how to respond to a situation where hundreds and possibly thousands of Gazans approach the fence in an attempt to bring it down and storm a Jewish village or town.
There has also been speculation as to the possibility of Palestinian terrorist organisations in  Gaza  increasing their shelling and rocketing of Israel.  If this should occur, there could be a very real possibility of  the conflict escalating even more. The EVP

The Chronicles of Terror

They Are At It Again

The Palestinians are stabbing people, killing people, throwing stones at people again.  For what?  Jewish people sitting down waiting for a bus get stabbed,  Jewish people walking in the Old City of Jerusalem get attacked and stabbed,  the Palestinians are killing and hurting innocent people who are minding their own business.  The strange thing is a Palestinian attacks someone for no reason, it would be different  in self defense.  This isn’t the case though.  Stabbings and attacks are now happening all over Israel and all we want is to live in a peaceful environment.  I quote this from an article from the Yahoo News by  Fare S. Akram ” Gaza-based Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh meanwhile applauded the recent Palestinian stabbing attacks across Israel at a speech in Gaza, calling the surge in violence an intifada, or uprising.

It is amazing to me how the militant Arabs start the trouble and blame Israel for the trouble they themselves are causing.  They bully us and expect us to allow the stones to hit us and hurt us.  They want war it is obvious, yet the world blames Israel for protecting it’s people.  The people in Gaza shoot rockets into Israel and Israel gets blamed for protecting itself.  Who shot first people?!  Wake up , it doesn’t take a brain scientist to figure out whose to blame here.

I know one thing and that is the G-d of Israel will protect Israel and the Jewish people…period.

Israel’s Independence Day and Memorials

Siren, ceremony mark start of Israel’s Memorial Day

JERUSALEM (JTA) — Israelis “are not a people of war,” President Reuven Rivlin asserted at a candle-lighting ceremony at the Western Wall in Jerusalem to mark the start of the country’s Memorial Day.

Rivlin spoke Tuesday night after a one-minute siren sounded throughout Israel, bringing the nation to a halt on a commemoration known in Hebrew as Yom Hazikaron.

“Our sons did not go to battle thirsty for blood. Not this past summer, not those before, not in our sorrow in those that, God forbid, are still to come,” he said. “We are forced to fight. Our children are sentenced to continue to hold a weapon in order to guard our borders, to defend our homes, on the factory that we have built here. The defense of our existence is the way of our lives.

Rivlin added, “There is no camp – no camp – in which there is no death. I’ve seen the sons of kibbutzim and settlements, moshavim and villages, Jews and non-Jews, urban people, lone soldiers and immigrants. I came to them too late. I got to know them when they were no longer here.”

Earlier, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a ceremony at the headquarters in Jerusalem of Yad Lebanim, the association for families of fallen soldiers. He spoke about his family’s continuing grief for his brother, Yonatan, who died in 1976 during the rescue of kidnapped Israelis in Entebbe, Uganda. The prime minister had visited his brother’s grave earlier in the week in order to avoid disturbing bereaved families on the actual day.

A second siren, two minutes long, will sound at 11 a.m. Wednesday and marks the beginning of official memorial ceremonies throughout Israel.

Some 23,320 fallen soldiers and civilian victims of terror are being recognized this year, including the 116 soldiers and civilians who were killed or died in the last year, among them the  67 soldiers and five civilians killed in Israel’s operation in Gaza last summer. The figure of 23,320 fallen soldiers is calculated from 1860, when Jews first began to settle outside of Jerusalem.
